Open Season

So, it has turned into somewhat of a tradition to go on a Sunday evening drive and look for deer. The boys love it and we usually get them in their pajamas before hand just in case they get sleepy. Chance really enjoys it and knows he has to be quiet so as to not scare the deer away, he is so good at spotting them too. We were just talking about Chance having a little bit of "hunter" in him when a black SUV pulls up beside us. A lady with just a hint of attitude proceeds to say...Are you guys hunting out here? Chris is like what? Well, I saw you were wearing hunter orange and driving really slow by the deer are you guys hunters? (Chris was wearing his t-ball coach shirt, which is bright orange) So, Chris starts laughing and tells her it's a T-ball team shirt. The lady is like well...do you know anyone in this area. Chris being the quick thinker he is says yes we are friends with the Dehann's. (people in our ward that live in that area). Then he tells her we have a 2 year old and 4 year old who just like to look at the deer and that's it. So, she explains that she is part of a neighborhood watch program and was just making sure we weren't hunters. I can somewhat understand her worry but come on now...she doesn't have to heckle us when we were only out for an enjoyable Sunday drive. I guess people are taking this opening day of deer season to be on the lookout for predators. Anyways, we got a good laugh at being accused of being deer hunters!!! Ha Ha!
