I love to use this phrase and use it quite often! Mostly in a sarcastic way but lately it has new meaning. I've started to realize just how important families are to even my two young boys. How they love to have the comfort of both parents around and how much they love to all be together as a Family. When they are playing they always have a Dad, Mom, big boy, and baby. Even Dodger can take something as simple as a pile of rocks and make a family out of them and pick out a Mom, Dad, brother, and a baby. When Chance wants us to tell him a bedtime story while drawing on his back it always has to have a Dad, Mom, a brother named Chance, and a brother named Dodger usually in the form of some kind of animal! It is just so amazing how all of their comfort and safety come from having a Mom, Dad, and siblings around.
Also, the last few nights while Chris has been away hunting, I've realized just how important he is to the boys and to me and all the little things he does for us. Chance and Daddy have their nightly routine of making a parachute out of his blanket while counting backwards from 10 and story time while Chris draws on his back. The last few nights while I was put in charge of this duty I heard several times...."That's not how Daddy does it." and when I would get something wrong Chance would say "Oh great now we have to start ALL OVER." I'm grateful for all the little things and big things Chris does for our family! I love our little family and wouldn't trade it for anything!!
On a side note: On the way to Story time a few days ago Chance asked when we were getting a new baby. My reply was...uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...whenever Heavenly Father thinks we are ready he will send us one. He got a little smile and then said well, can you tell him your ready now so he will send us one soon? Hmmm...I'll see what I can do Chance. Don't know if we are quite ready for that one. Funny what things go through their little minds.
Also, we recently decided to go down to Texas for Thanksgiving!! I am so excited! I have not been to Texas for Turkey day in a good 10 years! I'm grateful to be able to spend time with family as it has always been the most important thing to me!

I have been thinking about you, knowing your hubby is hunting. I was just chuckling at Chance and "That's not how daddy does it." These boys! Yes, it is quite amazing to me that our kids recognize what a family is and the structure. Also cute about asking about a baby.....uhhhhhhhhh would be my answer too!
